

Chagford is a unique
place, attracting visitors from all over the world. Chagford was probably
established in Saxon Times and the name means “The ford where the gorse
grows”. The eight-sided Market House (pictured above), known locally as
the ‘pepper pot’, is a focal point in Chagford and is on the site of the
old Stannary Court. Whatever the time of year Chagford is an ideal holiday
